Old Sorrel Old Sorrel (AKA The Clegg Horse and El Alazan) founded a dynasty of performance horses for the King Ranch. Even today, his bloodline can be found in the winners of every working event for which the Quarter Horse is acclaimed. Old Sorrel became the fountain-head of the King Ranch breeding program, his descendants being such great foundation horses themselves, such as Wimpy, Peppy, Macanudo, Cardinal, Solis, Hired Hand, Little Man, Ranchero, Rey Del Rancho, and Pep Up. Peppy Peppy was cool, calm, level-headed and kind. Linebred to Old Sorrel, he was a success in both showing and breeding. Peppy was the first horse on the King Ranch to be extensively shown. He was Grand Champion Quarter Horse Stallion at the 1940 Southwestern Exposition and Fat Stock Show, and Grand Champion Cow Horse at the 1941 Tucson Horse Show, among many other titles. King 234 King is one of the Quarter Horse industry's cornerstones. His conformation set the standard for Quarter Horse judging for more than a decade. While he never won any performance points, King established a dynasty. He sired 20 AQHA Champions, 84 Performance Registers of Merit, 12 Racing Registers of Merit, three Superior Halter Award winners and 10 Superior Performance Award winners. Poco Bueno Put Poco Bueno in a cutting arena and he became a blur of lighting-fast speed. He and his sire, King P-234, were destined to become one of the industry's most famous father/son teams. Poco Bueno sired 36 AQHA Champions and 3 NCHA Hall of Fame Horses. Grey Badger II Grey Badger was a sizzling speed horse with legs of iron. He demolished almost every horse matched against him. The grey stallion's legs lasted long enough to eventually be raced against his own foals. By the time of his death, his decendants already began to prove themselves worthy of his greatness.
